Step-up for your health. Speaking of feet, you should be walking more. The American Heart Association and many health experts agree that people can significantly improve their health by walking 10,000 steps per day. Unfortunately, most of us are only half-way there, as a 2010 study published in the journal Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise found Americans only take an average of 5,117 steps each day. Daily amounts of moderate to vigorous exercise, such as walking, have been shown to reduce risks of cardiovascular disease and other disorders.
