Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year as I did. However, I was aware that this is not the case for everyone as various friends had difficult experiences over the festive period. I have been thinking about how important it is for those of us returning to work in schools tomorrow to ?remember that it is not only adults who may have found the festive break challenging. In one of the schools I work in there are more incidents of domestic violence during this time than at any other time of year. So as we return to work tomorrow let us consider what the children in our schools may have experienced over the past two weeks, and what feelings they may be returning to school with. If we can, let?s focus on the important aspects of being back at school, the relationships we have with the children and ensure we?spend time reconnecting and rebuilding the foundations of emotional well- being, before attempting to engage with any learning.
Oh yes, and by the way, we need to?remember to reconnect with our colleagues too, these relationships are just as important.
