Package: ?32,000 ? ?35,000 (depending on experience), plus ?7,000 OTC per annum uncapped, annual bonus ?2500 subject to targets being achieved, company car, benefits

The Role

The New Business Sales Engineer will be responsible for winning and developing business for the Company?s Process Analytics product range to defined key growth potential accounts across the UK within the refining, petrochemical and general chemical industries.

You will develop a network of contacts up to senior management level and will work closely with colleagues who specialise in other product areas to maximise sales for the Company.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to Sales Manager ? Process Analytics:

  • 100% new business focus specifically targeting accounts outside existing customer base;
  • Take responsibility for and coordinate technical and commercial support for new customers;
  • Sell Company service products associated with Process Analytics products.

The Employer

The Company is a leading supplier of analytical instruments, with a reputation for technical excellence. The highly profitable Process Analytics Group is divided into two business units: one focussing on pH, dissolved oxygen, gaseous oxygen, conductivity, turbidity and CO2 for process analytics applications in chemical, pharmaceutical and food & beverage industries; and the other on pure and ultra pure water treatment measurement & control in pharmaceutical, semiconductor and power industries with parameters of conductivity/resistivity, TOC, pH, DO, dissolved ozone and flow.

The Candidate

Most suited to this role of New Business Sales Engineer would be someone with a successful history of selling technical equipment into the process industries (Pharmaceutical, Chemical and EPC), together with a proven track record of continually winning and developing new accounts in a similar UK wide role. You will have existing business relationships in these industrial areas and have the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of an organisation.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Instrumentation (liquid or gas analysers), control systems, hazardous area equipment, speciality refining / petrochemical equipment or data acquisition.

Ideally with good access to A1/M1 and M62

Qualifications

HND/Degree or equivalent

Personal Traits

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Self-motivated with a hunger to succeed and to meet financial targets
  • Keen strategic awareness
  • Problem solver
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Familiar with marketing databases and Windows applications
  • Full and preferably clean driving licence

Relevant Experience

  • Proven career in complex selling
  • Proven history of repeatedly winning new accounts and developing their business
  • Experience of selling technical products into the process areas of the Pharmaceutical, Chemical and EPC industries
